Hi everyone!
We’re really excited about how things are coming together for the tournament in Annot. I looks like we’re going to have a great bunch of people and it’s going to be a blast! Feel free to leave any comments you may have at the bottom of the page.
Please Notice the Deadline!
If you intend to participate in the tournament, please let us know by July 15th if you haven't already done so! The Mayor of Annot is going to get local players for us to compete against and we need to give him an idea of how many people will be going. Thanks!

The Latest Details
Several people have already made reservations to stay in various places.
- Menzina Churchman (from Dallas), Mike Klein and Kelly Brown have reservations at the Hôtel Beauséjour. We have stayed there before. It is a nice "normal" hotel near the center of the village.
- Kathy and Gary Ragan are staying at a summer rental in the center of town.
- Rudy Vallée intends to bring his RV and park it at the RV Park near the center of the village.
- Ed and Kay Priest are staying in an apartment a couple of kilometers from Annot (Les Scaffarels).
If you want people to know where you will be staying, please send us a note via the Contact page once you have made arrangements and we will add you to the list above in future updates.
Don't Forget the Campground
For those who have not made reservations, remember that, besides a few summer rental apartments, there is a campground with several options available (small cabins, motor homes, tents). Camping La Ribière is really pretty funky and it is just across the road from the grocery store.
Pré Saint-Martin
There are also bigger cabins on the hill at the Le Pré Martin.
A Great Travel Guide
If you wish to buy a guide of Provence, we strongly recommend the DK Eye Witness travel book Provence & Côte d’Azur. You will really get more out of your trip if you do a little homework with this great little guide.
Make Time for Nice
From our experience going to Annot, we strongly recommend you make time to stay a few days in Nice. Also, if you need to catch a plane or a train, keep in mind that Annot is a couple of hours away from Nice. It is a good idea to plan ahead and maybe spend a night in Nice at the beginning and/or a the end of your stay, based on your travel plans.
Group Activities
While we are in the Annot area, we intend to keep busy with casual fields trips and hikes (for those who feel like it).
Also, there is a community center that we intent to rent for the tournament weekend. It has kitchen facilities and a stage and will be a nice gathering spot for potluck dinners and other events.
A New Calendar Feature
We are still experimenting with a new calendar feature on the Resources page. It seems to be working. If you want to have your travel dates posted there send them to us via the Contact page and we will add them. We think it will be really helpful to have one place where we can all see who will be where when!
How long are most of you staying?
Hi Mary Margaret! Great to hear from you. It’s hard for us to tell what people are doing, but if you look at the calendar at the bottom of the Resources page you can get an idea of what we know so far. Let us know what your plans are and we can add you also.
Calendar is at the bottom of the Resources page.
Hi guys, thanks for your invitation to the Petanque Tournament of Annot. (For your explanation: I’m the RV traveler from Germany who played at Browning Hangar, Austin & Jim accompanied me)
I’m still in Montana USA. Please give me the information about Annot 2019 when I’ll be back in Europe.
Allez les Boules
